Arrival in PAP
We have arrived in PAP and I have gotten settled in at the NGO house. The living quarters are very nice and I even have AC! The view from the balcony is beautiful overlooking downtown and I am anxious to see the sunset over the water-- something you don't get to see in NC. There are a few things I can see that I will need eventually-- clothes hangers and a desk lamp-- it is dark over by the computer area in my room.
Tomorrow, we will head out to Moulin sur Mer for the UMCOR conference with UMCOR, UMVIM, and EMH (L'Eglise Methodiste d'Haiti) representatives until Wednesday afternoon. At the end of the week, we plan to visit one of the camps that UMCOR has been working to supply with tent schools and also make a site visit with a work team. So far, so good! I just took a..... HOT shower!! Yes, no joke!
